Disclaimer: These pricing calculators and tools have been developed to assist providers with analyzing details of payments made by the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS). The FISS claim system is the official and proper process for obtaining Medicare payments.

The pricing calculators and tools—including worksheets—do not guarantee the allow ability or amount of payment by the Medicare program. These tools and worksheets supplement other resources available to providers to help analyze FISS payments (e.g., the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services [CMS] PC Pricer).


These payment calculators and tools have been developed to assist providers in analyzing and evaluating payments made by the FISS claims system. Even though FISS is the official payment by the Medicare program (as emphasized in the Disclaimer above), we recognize that many providers analyze components of the total payments made by the FISS system. These worksheets and tools supplement other resources available to providers, e.g., CMS PC Pricer links.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ( CMS) Web site contains various payment calculators on the PC Pricer page. You are encouraged to use the PC Pricer page as another resource to for validating Medicare payments.

Online Access to Federal Register

The U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO) Web site maintains an online repository of the Federal Register (create hyperlink to ; Note: User will be leaving NGS site), as well as many other Medicare-related publications (e.g., Proposed Rules, Final Rules, etc.) issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services ( CMS).

To access a specific volume of the Federal Register, look for the Go command in the middle of the Federal Register main page; select the desired Year and then select Go. The daily Federal Registers are listed in chronological order.
