DME MAC Jurisdiction A offers and participates in a variety of educational opportunities to assist the supplier community in understanding Medicare as it pertains to Durable Medical Equipment, Prosthetics, Orthotics and Supplies.

• Ask-the-Contractor Teleconference (ACT) - Opportunities for suppliers to interact directly with the NHIC DME MAC A on various topics


• Webinars - Live, Web-based seminars.


• Seminars/Workshops - In-person seminars offered at locations throughout our service area.


• Trade Shows/Special Events - A calendar of upcoming trade shows, conferences, and other special events in which DME MAC Jurisdiction A will be a participant.


• Education Online - Access to our online courses, which are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  

Note: Some non-Medicare corporations are promoting seminars called "Medicare" seminars, although they are not sponsored by Medicare. These corporations may advise providers that they must attend the seminar "to be in compliance with Medicare." Please be advised that Medicare is not associated with these seminars, and does not require attendance to meet compliance criteria. DME MAC Jurisdiction A's seminars are announced in our bulletins and on this Web site.

If you utilize information received at seminars, conferences, or workshops conducted by non-Medicare corporations and then are found to be non-compliant with Medicare law, regulations, and guidelines, you will be held liable for any incorrect information you submit to the Medicare program.

Seminars/Workshops

The DME MAC Jurisdiction A Outreach & Education Team is pleased to announce the schedule for our Spring 2008 in-person educational seminars.

These FREE seminars are being offered over a two-day period with the option to attend any session(s) of your choice. You are required to be registered for each session you plan to attend; however, if sessions are running concurrently you may only select one of those sessions.

These sessions are designed for new billing staff as well as individuals seeking refresher training. Changes occur rapidly with the Medicare program and this is a great way to enhance your knowledge by receiving information on the most recent Local Coverage Determination (LCD) revisions as well as changes that may be occurring overall with the DME MAC program. Topics include DME MAC Billing Essentials, What’s New with the Medicare Program - Keeping Up with DME MAC Changes, CPAP and Respiratory Assist Devices (RAD), Nebulizers, Non-Powered Mobility Assistive Equipment (MAE) - Canes, Crutches, Walkers, and Manual Wheelchairs, and lastly Power Mobility Devices (PMDs).
