The VIPS Provider Inquiry System (VPIQ) will save you and your staff the time and hassle of using the IVR. With VPIQ access you will no longer have to sit on hold or punch numbers into the phone, you will be able to access instant claim status updates and "on the spot" beneficiary eligibility.

The VPIQ is a subsystem of the VIPS Medicare System (VMS) that allows suppliers to obtain information on:

  • Claim status by health insurance claim number (HICN) and date of service
  • Paid/denied claim information
  • Information on completed claims awaiting payment floor clearance
  • Estimated mail or electronic funds transfer (EFT) date on completed claims
  • Eligibility
  • Certificate of Medical Necessity (CMN) and DME Information Form (DIF)

The VIPS Provider Inquiry System (VPIQ) allows access to information on both pending and processed DME MAC Jurisdiction A claims.

To sign up for VPIQ you first need to establish a connection through one of our Network Service Vendors. The Vendor you choose will provide you with the communication service needed to access the VPIQ. NHIC, Corp. has agreements with two Network Service Vendors; IVANS and VisionShare. Please visit our Network Service Vendor page for more information on these companies. You must select and enroll with a Network Service Vendor prior to enrolling in VPIQ with NHIC, Corp.

Once you have obtained your connectivity User ID and password from one of the Network Service Vendors, you will need to complete the VPIQ Enrollment Form Adobe Image (60 KB) to enroll for VPIQ.

The VPIQ User Guide to the CMN Adobe Image(88 KB) is available to assist with understanding the CMN/DIF screen information.

Note: Please call 866-563-0049 for VPIQ password re-sets. Thank you.
